For a little under 4 years now, Twitch has been synonymous with gaming and streaming. Many people, like Me-Time Gamer, stream games for people to watch, either for enjoyment or to give people a better understanding of a certain game. On February 20th, Twitch announced the launch of TwitchCon, a community driven event to feature all things Twitch, top broadcasters and alike.

Emmett Shear, Twitch CEO, stated:

“Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person. TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community – broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us – to play and learn together.”

The event will take place in Moscone West, San Francisco, California on September 25th to 26th, 2015. This is great time to meet big names you see everyday on Twitch and mingle with fellow community members. Personally, I think this is always a good idea to bring people together and promote games and gaming in general because if there’s one group that always gets the short end is gamers. What do you guys think about TwitchCon later this year? Is this an event you see yourself attending? Tell us in the comments below!
